Hi!
The idea behind this blog is not just to promote and present art and artists from Colombia, but to help the many people around the world who are interested in artworks from this country find out more. However, I cannot publish everything there is to know or be asked about Colombian Contemporary Art!
So, if you have a particular question or if you would like more help, you are welcome to contact me. I will do my best to freely assist where possible. If what you require needs detailed attention and/or investigation then I will quote you prior to starting any engagement.
To find out more, please write to: art [@] artcolombia.com

I am trying to find out if there are paintings available by an artist by the name of Barajas who I believe is Colombian.
The pictures I have seen have been portraits of ladies, but they are more like sketches, than solid paintings.
Can you give me any information and are there any pictures available?
Thank you, Vicky
Hi Vicky:
I do not know of any such artist, but on a web search I found the following:

Perhaps this is what you are after?
Best regards from Colombian Art!
My fiance has painting done by a Colombian artist by the name of S. Arango B.. Is there such an artist?? Or am I spelling his name incorrectly? The painting was done around 1978 in Santa Rosa de Osos, Medellin Colombia.
Sorry, I do not know of the artist, plus Arango is a common family name in (Medellín) Antioquia. Perhaps someone reading this blog does know of the artist and can reply here or hopefully they will be able to contact you via your email if so and give you/us more information.
Thanks for your comment.
My family owns a Botero original oil painting. We believe our father (passed in 1997) may have purchased it in 1957 when Botero exhibited his early works at the Pan American Union in Washington, DC where we lived. Our parents were in the Diplomatic Corps representing Nicaragua.
The painting, we have been informed, comes from Botero’s early years before he developed his “fat – rotund” stly for which he is internationally famous. The painting depicts a wounded bull in the arena.
The work has been authenticated by the artist.
Is there a market for Boter’s early works? Where should we start?
Thanks for any guidance.
